Where is the best place in the USA to rent a beach house?

February 9th, 2010 by Dirtguy | 5 Comments | Filed in Beach Houses
I’d love a location where I can walk to things (boardwalk, beach, putt putt, etc.) I also want a place to rent a house, not stay at a resort or hotel. Our group stayed in Falmouth (Cape Cod) last year and loved being able to bike / walk to places. Where do you suggest next???? Thanks!!!

Where to go for good beach vacation on Atlantic Coast?

February 5th, 2010 by Dirtguy | 2 Comments | Filed in Beach Houses
I want to rent a beach house – family of five, three kids ages 15-11. Looking for a nice beach (water not too cold) interesting surroundings, not too commercial, but not isolated either.
Can go anywhere from Cape Cod to Cape Hatteras, NC, and want to keep costs down.

Any suggestions? I know of Cape Cod, Rehoboth Beach, Ocean City, Va Beach and the Outer Banks. Which is best?

Where can you rent a beach house for grad week on the east coast if you are only 18?

Carolyn S asked:

Me and a group of my friends want to rent a house for grad week. We have noticed that min age requirement is usually 21 or 25, depending on property. Real estate agencies will not rent to anyone under 21. Some individual owners will rent to teenagers, but it depends on the city. I hear that some beach towns are better bets than others. Any direction would be great. Thanks.

The Real Estate Market is dead, should I rent my house and take a loss until the market rebounds?

PCB asked:

I have a house a block and half to the beach in NW Florida. Remodeled 3/2 w/ loft office, pool, large lot, etc. No leads after 2 months. I assume the market will come back in a year or two and would hate to basically give away such a great house. On the other hand, I’m worried about rentors damaging the house. Also I will not be able to get enough monthly to cover the mortagage payment, I estimate a $300-$500 a month loss.
