The top reasons I can think of are:
-Lack of diligence in researching an answer
-Trying to be entertaining/funny
People who choose the best answer are also guilty of perpetuating false information. There were times I gave information from trusted websites like the AMA website or a link to a reputable journal, but the Asker chose an answer that was unsupported by any sources. The answer chosen told the Asker what they wanted to hear.

If you would rather listen to that stuff instead of a person who lives there this is up to you.
If you notice our state of Oregon is not even on that list. I can personally tell you some horror stories that go on here, but the national news channels do not think it is that big of deal….
I bet plenty of people live in those cities you listed up there with no problems. Depends what you want to listen to, and frankly the way you wrote up there it sounds as if you are a kid, or at least a young person. My children do not know much of the world either…..
because yahoo has this point system to boost someone’ ego so some people may answer a question to get more points.
Of course, I look guilty answering this question now but What does the points do? Can I buy stuff?
